Taco stands

Competition does wonders for any business, and in Sayulita, the numerous taco stands have become increasingly competitive—which is to say, they challenge each other to make GREAT tacos, with fish, meat, vegetarian, chicken, (and other animals and animal parts available as well, for those with more arcane tastes). You can order a couple to go at pretty much any of the taco carts on the side of the road into or out of town or down towards the beach, pay between a dollar and maybe three dollars per taco, and be assured you will get something tasty to eat, good, healthy, and filling.

People that complain about Sayulita restaurant prices being too “American, ” meaning too high, simply haven’t indulged in good old-fashioned Mexican cheap eats—tacos off a cart. Do it, and you won’t regret it—unless perhaps you overindulge in some of the incredibly flavorful, incredibly hot hot sauces you’ll find in the condiment trays at many of these taco stands. Salsa-lovers, beware! You can catch afire out there!

Great street eats:

Tacos on the Street just north of the bridge for the best in meat, fish, chicken, and vegetarian tacos

The Best Fish Tacos stand on Calle Delfines for the best fish tacos

Tacos Ivan on Revolucion incoming for excellent cheap tacos pastor

El Itacate on Revolucion outgoing for the best steak tacos around
