Where to Eat
The beach is lined with umbrellas, and they all come with restaurants attached. You rent a chair under an umbrella, and a waiter, menu and good food comes with it. Seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta, Mexican food, American food, maybe something French. Fries, anyone? Anything and everything to drink. Vendors stroll the beach with lasagna, ice cream, potato chips, shrimp, fish, and oysters on the half shell, tamales, cookies, candy. By the river, a stand sells cups of sliced fruit or vegetables, with or without hot sauce or lemon juice. They also offer coconut water. They will hack off the top of an ice cold coconut, stick a straw in it, and there you have it: coconut water, right from the source.
